The goal is to enhance Bull Run Dam towers for improved structural integrity and reliable water storage and distribution.

The Solution

For the Bull Run Dam 2 Tower Improvements project, we successfully installed 48″ diameter drilled shafts, 42″ diameter tangent piles, and 42-48″ diameter secant piles, reaching depths of up to 50 feet in challenging conditions such as saturated silts, boulders, and R4 basalt

The successful project ensured the stability and integrity of the Bull Run Dam towers, enhancing the water storage and distribution system’s reliability.

Objective

The Bull Run Dam plays a vital role in the local water supply as it serves as a crucial reservoir for storing and supplying water to the surrounding communities. It provides a reliable source of clean drinking water, supporting the needs of residents, businesses, and industries in the area. The dam ensures a consistent and sustainable water supply, which is essential for the well-being and development of the local population. The maintenance and improvement of the dam are critical to ensure the continued availability of high-quality water for the region.

 

For the Bull Run Dam 2 Tower Improvements project, we successfully installed 48″ diameter drilled shafts, 42″ diameter tangent piles, and 42-48″ diameter secant piles, reaching depths of up to 50 feet in challenging conditions such as saturated silts, boulders, and R4 basalt. The work was carried out using the Bauer BG25 drill rig. It’s worth noting that the project site was located near an active reservoir, adding an additional layer of complexity due to the sensitive environment. Pacific Foundation’s expertise and successful execution contributed significantly to the overall success of the critical structure project.
