Review The Approach Before It Is Set
Value engineering is most useful before the project team is committed to a method that may not match the field conditions. For Pacific, that review is practical: what is shown in the plans, what the geotechnical report says, what the specifications require, and what the site will allow.

Compare Methods Carefully
CFA piles are not drilled shafts. Displacement CFA is not conventional CFA. Soil mixing is not jet grouting. Ground anchors are not soil nails. Rigid inclusions are ground improvement and settlement/load-transfer support, not automatically structural deep foundations.
What Comes Out Of The Review
A useful review should produce a clear decision: price the specified method, request missing information, or compare a practical alternative. When the approach is defined, the work can move into estimating with documented assumptions.

Is value engineering the same as redesign?
No. This page describes constructability and method-fit review for specialty foundation scopes. Any formal design responsibility, delegated design, or stamped engineering role has to be defined separately.
Do you only review scopes that are already specified?
No. Pacific can review defined bid scopes and earlier-stage questions where the team is still comparing methods or trying to understand what constraints control the work.
Does value engineering guarantee a changed scope?
No. Sometimes the specified method is still the right answer. The review is meant to clarify method fit, constructability, and missing information before the work moves forward.
