Water, Sewer & Waste
Three Rivers WWTP
Client: Stellar J Corporation
Scope of Work: CFA Shafts
Project Year: 2024
The Three Rivers Wastewater Treatment Plant is undergoing major upgrades, funded by $48 million in bonds. The improvements aim to enhance treatment capacity, reliability, and sustainability. Key upgrades include replacing outdated clarifiers and installing a new solid waste digester system, which will convert waste into biosolids for use as fertilizer. Construction is expected to be completed by 2026.
Pacific Foundation is supporting the project by installing Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piles as deep foundation elements, ensuring stable support for the new structures. These enhancements will improve waste management and service continuity for the region.
The Project
The Three Rivers Wastewater Treatment Plant improvements aim to enhance treatment capacity, reliability, and sustainability.
The Solution
Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) shafts are deep foundation elements constructed by drilling into the soil and simultaneously injecting concrete through the auger. This process creates strong, stable support for structures, minimizing vibration and disruption, making it ideal for complex soil conditions.
The Result
The Three Rivers upgrades enhance wastewater capacity, safety, and sustainability. Improved treatment processes and biosolid recycling benefit the environment, support regional growth, and ensure reliable service, bolstering public health and resource management for Cowlitz County and surrounding communities.
