Micropiles
Georgia Pacific Wauna Mill Expansion
Client: JH Kelly
Scope of Work: Micropiles
Project Year: 2021
The Project
Georgia-Pacific announced a $25 million investment in Wauna Mill for a new Angel Soft bath tissue converting line. The investment aims to enhance product value and market competitiveness while creating new jobs.
Scope of Work
Pacific Foundation was contracted to install micropiles as part of the expansion work at the Wauna Mill facility. In the context of industrial construction, micropiles serve as deep foundation elements that are capable of taking up both axial and lateral loads. They are particularly useful in challenging ground conditions where traditional foundation solutions may not be feasible.
The Result
The $25 million expansion at Wauna Mill bolstered Georgia-Pacific’s market competitiveness by enhancing its Angel Soft bath tissue line, while also creating new employment opportunities in the region.
